We are nearing the end of the Toronto International Film Fest! Know what? I could give a shit.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good film as much as the next guy, but I find our obsession with celebrities to be perverse.
Every year at this time, people become obsessed with catching a glimpse of the stars when they come to town. I really don't care if I see any of them. They are just human beings like you and I. Some talented, some just lucky or in the right place at the right time. Some have big hearts and minds while others are just assholes.
Speaking of celebs, RIP Joan Rivers...
If there is one thing Robin Williams' suicide should tell you, its that all the money and fame in the world doesn't make you have a perfect life. And it doesn't make you happy.
You know what makes me happy? This was a great first week back to school. Big A got top results on a word test and loves her new class and teacher. Little A has eased back into kindergarten well and continues to explore her curiosity about the world. She asked me how water gets on earth, about the moon and if there is any life on other planets, and whether we could fly if we blew a bubble big enough to climb into. This kid cracks me up!
I'm nervous today...tomorrow is our big walk! I am thankful that the extreme temperature and humidity is supposed to blow over...it better as otherwise I will be complaining bitterly for 32 kilometres!! Wish me luck.
Have a lovely weekend.
