A Dozen Years...

Not only is it Friday...its the Friday before a long weekend! Oh, and Monday also happens to be our anniversary.  Admittedly, I have spent almost the past whole year thinking we were coming up on our 13th wedding anniversary, but actually, as Adam pointed out the other day, it's only our 12th.  But now he's teasing me that if its our 13th, than I must be another year older.  Yeah, he loves ribbing me about my age since I'm 2 years older than him.

Seriously though, I am really lucky.  Adam is my best friend.  I am so grateful I met him when I did...back when I was just 25!  To have to go through life alone is really tough.  I see this with my single clients who are opting to have a baby on their own, as they feel they have no other choice, and with my clients freezing their eggs because they are single and worry that time is running out, but are not yet ready to have a baby on their own.  As heartbreaking and difficult as infertility is, as long as you have enough money and are open to all available options (egg donation, sperm donation, embryo donation, gestational carrier, etc.), you can have a child, but you can't make a suitable life partner happen.  In fact, in my opinion, being with the wrong person is worse than being alone!

So yes, I am very fortunate to have such a great, supportive husband and I am really looking forward to this weekend.  Friday and Saturday I work, but then the girls are sleeping at Adam's parents' place Saturday night, so we have a date night.  Sunday we will find something fun to do as a family, and Monday Big A has a lunch date with her boyfriend and then a few girlfriends coming for dinner (who could not attend her party last weekend because of Brownie Camp).  Aside from some chance of rain, the weather report looks pretty good, so it should be great.

Okay, I know you're going to be interested in this post! I am sure virtually every woman in North America has wondered how Hollywood celebrities achieve such 'perfect' bodies.  Well, at CAN FIT PRO last week, one of Hollywood's top fitness trainers, Eric the Trainer , was there to tell us fitness professionals the secrets! Eric the Trainer, gave several presentations, and I caught the one on Celebrity Secrets, and it was most interesting!!!  I also found some of what he said rather disturbing. First off, he was very upfront about the fact that celebrities come to him for improve their appearance.  Not to improve their health or athletic performance.  To look their best.  He admitted that his approach then, is entirely dedicated to that end. Blackfly Coolers: Product Review

Summer is over! Well, at least if you're a student. Officially it doesn't end for a few weeks, and it certainly still feels like summer. Yeah, I hate it. This f*cking hot, humid weather needs to end NOW! We made the most of our last weekend of the summer with our annual trip to the CNE on Friday, with a crowd of friends. It wasn't unbearably lot, thank goodness, and the girls and their friends had a blast on the rides.  Saturday I had to work, and Sunday was errand day. Monday we took the girls berry/apple/pear picking but didn't last long due to the heat. I organized the house to prepare for the construction workers starting back up yesterday, while Adam took the girls for a swim in our neighbourhood pool. Yesterday was the first day of school. Grade 2 and Grade 5. Yep, the girls are growing up.  We are fortunate that the girls don't have much anxiety about school, they are so much more confident than I ever was as a kid!
